weekend madness :)

Last weekend flew past like a blur:) But it was fun blur. While I enjoy the quiet repose of weekend to relax and recharge, I definitely look forward to weekends like the last where I got to meet up with old friends etc.

On Friday night, after work, I went to meet S & EW at Plaza Sing for dinner. We ate fish soup beehoon at the foodcourt (highly recommend this) and then we proceeded to walk to Cathay to catch Little Children. It was enjoyable, albeit a bit lengthy. It was midnight when the show finished. After the movie ended, we walked to the front of PS to hail for taxi. We witnessed a middle age woman trying to hitch a free ride from a guy standing ahead of us in the queue! Weird.

On Sat, I almost overslept. Thank goodness my mom woke me up in time to meet the gang at East Coast Macs for breakfast. It was hot and sunny morning. It was surprisingly crowded with the whole place filled with little children and their parents. ZH, WL and MF (& family) came too. It was good to meet them. After breakfast, I drove S, J & EW home before heading out to Shangrila to meet A, ZZ, QJ and QM for brunch at the rose garden. Drove enroute PIE and exited Stevens Rd, drove past Balmoral Rd and almost hitting Scotts Rd before I gave up and called A for direction. I was so sure I could recognise the turn into the road that led up to the hotel. Thanks A for directing me to drive up orange grove rd. It was easy to find the hotel then. Needless to say, I was late. But QM was later, hahaha. No surprise there. She's the undisputed late queen among us.

It was good chill out time, away from the crowd. A took the opportunity to announce her engagement and plan to be married end of this year! Congrats! So happy for her that she has found the love of her life. She is planning to have her wedding at Bali. Romantic. It would also be my first trip to Bali :)Before we left Shang, we went to the vera wang boutique to look at the gowns. V nice but hugely expensive.

After brunch, we drove to QJ's new place at Clementi. She just moved in barely a week ago. It is a new flat, with surprisingly big kitchen. Big enough to have a work island. I thought it is q unusual for the newly built flat to have such big kitchen. Good choice. I had to leave her place almost 7pm (coz I was supposed to meet my parents for CNY shopping at sheng soong at the tekka market). Before I left, QJ gave me an old framed up picture of "Love at First Sight". Thank you. It's hanging in my living room now. :)

It had been a long time since I went to the wet market. So it was surprisingly enjoyable picking out prawns, squids, cuttlefish etc for the reunion dinner. It was late but the new year buzz already hit town. We couldn't even get our hands on trolleys. Had to lug the seafood and love letters in baskets. It was almost midnight by the time I reached home. Totally exhausted but fun.

Sunday started with breakfast at Wang Jiao Toast with S. Her craving for kaya toast and teh brought us there instead of Starbucks. After breakfast, we walked to service. I shall miss this when S goes back to NC.
