Good afternoon, my lovely readers!
I deeply, deeply apologize for the extremely slow update, but things have been a bit of a whirlwind and a hurricane eye at the same time. While work has been progressing steadily and effectively (I no longer run out of things to do for the day-busy, busy!) it is quite different knowing that I have less than two weeks to live here...I've been doing what I can to explore, going on close encounters whenever possible, and living/cooking life to the fullest! I plan on uploading more pictures soon of my creations and of my adventures in areas like pike place market, the Seattle Aquarium, and even down town in the Art/Theatre district.
I've been getting involved in the local community as well to pass the time. Volunteering through habitat, gleaning my apple and cherry trees to donate the fruit to the foodbank, and spending time with the children in my neighborhood playing in this beautiful weather! It seems that it's finally become summer up here (only took until AUGUST). Which also means that my poor little plants are dying D: I'm such a bad mommy when it comes to taking care of them...
In other news, in the world of returning to North Carolina, classes have started and they've started with a bang! I'm a fulltime Grad student AND working full time, so we'll see how this goes. So far it doesn't seem too horrible if I can use my downtime/days off to work on assignments, but the transition back to the east coast will be an interesting one. At least I have housing and a brand new adventure to start when I get there. Wish me luck! It's going to be another drop in the bucket, but I know that God has great plans for me and has given me so many opportunities at home that it's hard to pass up just settling down for a while instead of bouncing all over the place.
In the mean time, I plan on doing all I can out here in WA, explore, spend time with the friends I've made here and experience things I never have before. I know that I'm going to miss everyone, but thank you technology for making it so easy to maintain contact despite 3000 miles of distance!
I pray you all are well and look for more updates in the future (and pictures on facebook :D)
