...Thirty For Threepio...

Day Two of this very-busy, very-busy-ind33d week is over, and I got away without having to play bells at rehearsal tonight! Snoogans. I was fretting about it all day and then the new percussion guy sight-read it like nothing (hooray!) and I stayed in my timpanic nest - safe in my creche of membranophones, comforted by my clutch of felt-topped sticks.

Creche is one of my favorite words. Maybe you aren't cool enough to know of it...or maybe you are. If so, good for you! If not, I'd suggest getting cooler.

...you don't have to, though - It's just a suggestion. Damn, you don't have to take everything so personally...

Day Three of my busy week involves mowing the lawn (yuck) and then a roadtrip with Blake and Sky to Chicago to see DISPATCH (w00t!)! I'm hella excited, especially because they broke up shortly after we started listening to them in high school and I figured we'd never get to see them. When they'd put out a new DVD Sky would come over and we'd watch it together...OUS would roll around blasting The General in Chris' car...Brett would groan that we were listening to them at all...good memories, and more to come!

On Wednesday night I'll be downtown in front of Kelleher's on Water St. with the Municipal Band at 7:30. Anyone reading this is encouraged to come out and hear us play, or come out to get your drink on, and tell a bunch of people to come with you.

While I'm advertising, this Friday night I'll be in Metamora's Town Square with the Cat Big Band at 7:30. You, dear reader (whoever you may be), should come to that, too, and bring everyone you know! The concert is free, there's pie (not free), and some kickin' swing tunes with somebody cool holdin' down the drums.

I know he's cool because he knows the word "creche."
