thoughts on the office finale
i'm not sure how i feel, exactly. lots of twists that i didn't expect, definitely, but no real laugh-out-loud moments. i feel...i don't know, disappointed? like i was waiting and waiting and nothing really happened. but things did happen.
okay, things i liked about the ep:
i thought jim and karen were very cute in nyc. they actually looked like a couple. and karen voiced legitimate concerns. honestly, i feel bad for karen. she just got hosed all around. she didn't get the job--ryan? i mean, mba and all, what experience does he have? poor karen to get shafted that way. and then jim leaves her in nyc? she's clearly more in her element in nyc, which is cool, but how's she going to find her way back to scranton?
i just love angela kinsey. her little facial expressions in reaction to dwight are just perfect. but dwight was not as funny as usual.
didn't see the boob job at all.
karen called pam a bitch. ha! totally understandable, but it made me laugh.
pam was really great in the end, trying so hard not to care if jim ends up leaving but then tearing up. she's really good at crying, that jenna.
i don't know...i just felt that it was over too quickly. can't put my finger on it, but i was a little disappointed.
ETA: i figured out why i'm still feeing a little wanting. i loved all the pam moments where she's being honest and proud of who she is. i just thought it wasn't as funny as some of the others. and as much as i love jam, i still love the funny parts...there were definitely good bits, but just not as many as i was hoping for, esp. because i laughed so much during beach games. see, i thought beach games had a better blend of the jam and the drama and the fun. this one was great for character development--loved seeing pam raised her voice and say that she wasn't sorry for anything she'd said to karen--but the funny parts weren't as fleshed out. karen was sort of a bitch. when jim said he felt bad for her, i totally agreed, and then karen was like, "ew. don't feel bad for her. she's nuts." eh. karen was not winning any points tonight.
oh, and the yogurt lid! how sweet is pam! this finale was all about pam. i loved her so much.
now i'm off to read everyone else's thoughts...
