the assignment:
2 self portraits each showing a different emotion. This is the first portrait.
So... the color is off on the computer version and you can't see the yellow light on my face that is coming from something glowing outside of the picture. I promise you it is there and it makes it look better.
That aside, I am pleased with this. Especially for a first piece. I had been previously told that watercolor is a very difficult medium, but my teacher showed us how to use it and he made it pretty simple. I really like working in watercolor I think. I also kind of consider this my first actual painted piece. It's exciting to be getting into color and figuring out how to deal with all that.
