Sadly
hearing about the Army giving away our last M*A*S*H unit makes me a little sad. For reasons I can't really comprehend I'll miss it. I've never served with, or even known anyone in a MASH unit, but I did REALLY enjoy the show. When I first started in EMS, my senior year of high school, I watched 2 episodes of MASH every morning. I am almost certain I've seen every episode. Odd I feel that connected to a television show that took 11 years to depict a war that only lasted 3. Well...we'll always have the M*A*S*H reruns, the M*A*S*H movie, Stripes, Sgt. Bilko, Major Pain, Private Benjamin and assorted other movies that make light of war and the military...but no more REAL MASH units.
In other News:
The other night at the St. Johns some weirdo decided he was going to stroll about the hospital and grope a patient. He also picked up a few things from assorted pastoral staff's offices. After a few nurses notified security that someone was running loose in the hospital the search was on. Since I had seen him earlier in the night, with his mother who was a patient, I told one of the Anderson PD officers I'd help her search. We sent a couple people to the 6th floor and she and I went to the basement. After a short search of the pharmacy and a large supply room we split up. As I came back to where we'd agreed to regroup at I heard him coming out of an office. Really nothing too exciting happened. He did not run. I did not get to tackle him. No shots were fired, contrary to what the rumors in the hospital may be. But it did make the
"paper". That kid is a moron.
On an unrelated note I've heard that a part time position is coming open in the security department at St. Johns. It pays more and the hours are the same. So I am going to apply for that. It is a sworn police officer gig so thats a plus.
Soon work for the reopening of the pool will start! I'm a little excited about that.
Oh...and if you care to see pictures of me playing Marine one weekend a month I have a new album dedicated soley to that purpose.
Here you go.
