Well our relief did finally show up. And its funny to hear them bemoaning the "hot" weather. One said to me:
"Its a scorcher out there today. I hear it was hotter."
Me: "Yeah...its not even 95 today. It used to be nearly 130."
"No crap!?!?!"
Gee...we're salty.
And since they are here that means we can leave. So sometime before Monday I'm leaving Abu Ghraib. Forever. *knocks on wood*
Also I was interviewed by the associated press, over Instant Messenger, about my Journal or "blog" and why/how/when/where I write about Iraq and my life. She said that she would send me the article when it was finished. I'll link it or post it for all to see.
IN OTHER NEWS:
My party has changed dates! Sorry to all but the Marine Corps is having trouble with the dates that we are getting home and starting leave and such. The party is now October 15th at my parent's house. Their crib. Their pad. Their...ummmm, roost?
There will be food...or something. Drinks will be provided and twister will be played. That last part about twister probably is false.
I'll tell harrowing tales of how I spent months on end in a prison cell with a smart dude, a guy with prozac withdraws, a big black man, and my Johnny Cash poster. Then I'll pantomime my experiences in Iraq by staring blankly at the night sky for a few hours...or until you get the gist that I was really bored most of the time.
Be there at or around 5pm and I'll set a big pile of wood on fire. Bring YOUR OWN chair and do not worry about me fire surfing. I may have retired that Extreme Sport. ESPN2 can only deny you coverage so many times before you have to just say "Ya know, this isn't really a competitive sport so much as it is me playing in a large fire."
If you don't know where my parents live drop me a line and I'll be sure to tell everyone else not to tell you, freak.
And if you're Garrison immediately after reading this go cry yourself to sleep.
