So, I've been staring at these tuxedo pants at Target for about a month now. They are not going to fit, no matter how much I want the measurements to change

Hrmn. They really only talk about tux jackets on the website -- or the complete tuxedo jacket and pants set. I guess I will have to go in to the store to see if they will do just the pants.
HAHAHAHA! I love that! One of Lance(of Pants)'s good friends is Andy, but they call him Andy Pange (pron. Andy-pan-gee). Nicknames make me absurdly happy. Nicknames in your PHONE make me even happier!
Are you sure they wouldn't fit? They seem to have a pretty big size range.
Also, this is not exactly what you want, but there is a tuxedo skirt available at Lane Bryant on sale and I love it. I can't get it because it's no longer available in my size, but maybe you can?
I tried on the 26s in the store and the fit was just awful -- way too "slim" through the hips and thighs. I don't think there is going to be enough extra room in the larger sizes to make it okay -- especially since the legs on the 26s were already kind of big.
I used to wear tuxedo pants all the time when I waited tables, they seemed to be the only black pants I could find that fit. My main problem with them (and men's pants in general) was that I could never get them to fit properly in the ass, and while I have one, I'm not overly bootylicious.
I don't know if I'd ever be able to wear them now, as I do believe they will always remind me of waiting tables at the Gumbo Shop and my daily feeling of looking like a damn penguin. Especially with the retarded bow tie. God, the worst was the white button down shirts. I always had to buy them big to get them to fit across my boobs, so the bottom part of the shirt poofed out when I tucked it in. I was CONSTANTLY walking around with stains from food trays on the bottom part of the shirt that I couldn't see because my chest blocked the view. *LOL* I still can't bring myself to wear white shirts to this day.
