Big batch of ASOS item reviews - with links!

I've spent an embarrassing amount of money at ASOS in the past six months.
Everything was ordered in my usual ASOS size UK22/US18 unless mentioned otherwise

My biggest fit "issues" tend to be my height (5'10.5") and bra size (42H). I'm about 50-40-51.

ASOS CURVE Exclusive Skater Dress With Ballet Wrap And Short Sleeve
A lot of wrap dresses end up low cut and sloppy on me, so I was surprised that this actually lays flat on my chest and doesn't gape. The length is really short - still a length I'm personally comfortable with - but it's so short that I can't belt it without the dress becoming a tunic. I wish it was more fitted in the waist for that reason. The hips are really full and the material is soft & stretchy, so I'm sure you could size down, especially if you're more pear-shaped. Here's a picture of me wearing it, looking tired.
This is also available in green and berry.

ASOS CURVE Exclusive Maxi Dress In Cheesecloth
My first maxi dress try-on! The "cheesecloth" (another term for gauze) is nice and opaque, but I'm not a fan of how fitted it is to my wide belly. I tried adding a denim jacket over it and am still meh on how it looks - instead of hitting my belly then flaring out, it tapers back in. I think this would look awesome on someone more bottom-heavy than me, or someone that is more comfortable with the fit! Also, I'm 5'10.5" and the length hits me where it hits on the model.
It's also available in coral and white! White is currently sold out but I'm sure some returns will trickle in.

ASOS CURVE Blouse With Origami Collar
I ordered this in a UK24/US20 because of my bust, but I ended up needing it for my high hips as well. It's roomy in the shoulders and waist, but I don't mind. Part of what I liked about this top on the website is, in the runway video, it's shown as what I see as the perfect length. A reason why a lot of plus retailers bother me is because they assume that plus size women want all their shirts to be tunic length (here's looking at you, Evans). I just want a normal length top! Anyway, despite being depicted as the length on the website, it actually IS tunic length, hitting me at the top of my thighs. I love the shirt otherwise, it has a decent opacity and cute style, so I'll likely keep it to tuck into skirts.
Also available in yellow!

ASOS CURVE Bikini Top With Halter Neck In 50's Floral Print
THIS TOP REALLY BAFFLES ME. So, I ordered the UK24/US20 hoping it'd fit my 42H cup size. The cups are huge - if you wear a smaller cup size than me you won't fill it out - and it could easily fit a cup or two larger than mine. The band was too loose on me, and made very thin. That's right: they made the cups huge and the band tiny. My chest is not supported because of it, and what's even more annoying is the band slides around and is non-adjustable. I'm also not a fan of halter tops, but was hoping the fit on this one would be good enough to bear with it. I'm not sure who this top could work for. :\ Also, the background of the top is a mint color, which was unexpected but cute (it looks cream to me on the website?).

ASOS CURVE Supersoft Skinny Jean In Oxblood
I was afraid these would be too short on me, but I can actually stand to cuff them! The inseam measures 33" on the US18, so they will likely be long on you if you're shorter. I like the rich burgundy color and the stretch, but it's weird that the US18 is a little loose on me given that I take a US20 in most stores. You can definitely size down if you're in-between sizes!

ASOS CURVE Midi Skirt In Jersey
When I ordered this, my usual size UK22/US18 was sold out, so I decided to try the size up. The UK24/US20 is actually not a bad fit aside from the really baggy waist! Because of the stretch jersey, it could fit a wide variety of sizes, and the baggy waist is easily rolled down. However, I did decide to return it - I don't think the midi length is for me. If you're a fan of bodycon, this is a great versatile skirt, especially for the sale price.

ASOS FORMAT Leather Flat Sandals
UK9/US11
I ordered these the first day they came out - it's uncommon for ASOS to make shoes in a US11 that don't sell out immediately (whoever makes this decision should pay attention!!). Good thing I did, because sure enough, my size was sold out by the next day. It's a flat sandal, so it doesn't have arch support, but I'm happy that my wide-ish foot fits into them. If you're a true wide, I wouldn't recommend. Also, if you're in-between sizes, definitely opt for the size up. I'm a 10.5 and the 11s are barely long enough.

ASOS CURVE Exclusive Sweater With Contrast Pockets
I'm impressed with the fit of this one - it's fitted without being clingy, a light to medium weight knit and not see through. My only complaint is that the sleeves are short on me. Even though I am tall, sleeve lengths are usually fine. The sleeves hit around my wrist bones on this one.
I love the minimalist style of it and plan to wear it with burgundy lipstick, skinny jeans, and black boots.
It's also available in a cute coral/cream combination.

ASOS CURVE Denim T-Shirt With Curved Hem
The most surprising thing about this "denim" shirt is: it isn't denim! In fact, it's far from denim. It's a lightweight french terry sort of knit in a pale shade of blue. I think I would've liked it more if it was actually denim, but I ripped off the tag and wore it to work that day regardless. It looked really cute with my statement necklace and skinny work trousers. The sleeves almost hit the elbow and are cut large intentionally - I think it might bother some - but I like that it's different from the other tops I own. The french terry knit allows a little stretch and is definitely another perfect hit on the fitted-but-not-clingy front.

ASOS CURVE Sleeveless Shirt With Brushstroke Print
I was obsessed with this top when it first came out, and I had all but written it off since it hovered around $60 for months. It ended up being disappointing - the material is pretty stiff, and while it fits me fine (though if you're large-hipped, you could probably size up), there is this weird slit in the back that POOFS out like half a foot. No, really, check it out (you can also check out how much it shows bra on the sides). I also wasn't wowed with the sleeves, which stick out really wide on the shoulders. I probably could've made it work somehow, but at the $30 pricetag, it still wasn't cheap. I sent it back.

ASOS CURVE Shirt Dress In Stripe And Floral
After landing an interview to be a Store Manager In Training for Anthropologie, I knew I had to look the part. I bought this expensive, drool-worthy dress I'd been eyeing. Now, this dress has been featured on wtfplus (one of my favorite blogs), but it feels more Parisian spring to me than like a barf-worthy clashing print mix a submission claims it to be. But that doesn't bother me - I still went for it and put it on 2-day shipping.

This was actually even more disappointing than the Brushstroke top - it's this shiny type of material, and it just fit me, meaning when I sat down, I was bulging outta the chest and hips. Lovely, right? Unfortunately, not really for an interview. It was far from worth the $84 pricetag for me, so I promptly shipped it back. I definitely recommend sizing up for this one.

ASOS CURVE Cropped Tailored Blazer
I also bought this for the interview. A definite pro is that it's the perfect length to wear with dresses, but I was personally underwhelmed otherwise. For $76, it was a lightweight, somewhat wrinkly blazer with oddly huge arms - like, twice the size of my wrists (which aren't small wrists). I planned on cuffing the sleeves anyway, but for the price I paid, I decided to just send it back. I think it could be worth the price if it goes on sale.

New Look Inspire Peter Pan Sleeveless Denim Shirt
Sleeveless denim shirt? I'm on it. It's a cotton denim, which I like, but the top button seems to always come undone for me. I ordered a UK24/US20 because of my bust and probably could've swung my usual size, but I've worn it as a comfortable flowy top with red lipstick and pegged pants on warm days. Other than the button issue, I think it's a surprisingly well-made shirt for the price (well, $28 isn't cheap, but compared to other ASOS non-jersey tops, it's a good price).

ASOS CURVE Exclusive Swing Tank In Faded Check
I love this tank top! Not a lot to say - lightweight but not sheer, great minimalist design, and a good fit. I'm not super into high-low hems in general, but I feel good in this. I like wearing it with red lipstick and a skater skirt for going out and with skinny work trousers and a long cardigan for work.

ASOS CURVE 80 Denier Burgundy Tights
I normally take a UK22/US18, but ordered the US20/22 in these given my height. They're still too short! The crotch part of the tights hits my upper thigh, and I tried wearing them to work despite that - only to have them roll down literally about 50 times throughout the day. DO NOT WANT. I tossed 'em. If you're shorter (I'm 5'10.5"), these might work. They're a good thickness and should last.

ASOS Crop Top with Polo Neck - Dark red
Took a chance ordering this in a UK18/US14 - do you know how hard it is to find fitted sleeveless polo neck tops in plus sizes?! Good news is, this is stretchy enough to work, though the shoulders are a little narrow and can show bra strap (not inherently bad, but I know it bothers some). It's shorter than the crop top I posted below, but I love it with a skater skirt and long necklace.

ASOS Crop Top with Turtle Neck - Black
This top overall runs larger than the burgundy version above - it's longer and the shoulders are wider. Sweet!

ASOS Maternity Swing Dress in Bright Floral
UK18/US14
No shame in ordering a maternity dress! Unfortunately, it ended up really short and bright for me. For reference though, it definitely fits my size US18/20 bod - it could work for someone else. Lots of stretch and plenty roomy.

ASOS Maternity Swing Dress With Long Sleeves
UK16/US12
I admit, I ordered this after seeing Gazel in it. It runs a lot shorter on me than it does for her, but I don't mind! I like how fitted it is in the arms and how it looks with a statement necklace and heels. I've also worn it with leggings and flats to run errands. It's a medium knit, so it's too warm to wear nowadays. I'm sure I'll wear it with leggings and riding boots in the fall.
It's also available in black and plum!

New Look Barney Backpack
I'd been waiting to find a good deal on a faux-leather backpack. Stacked with a coupon code, this was under $30. I love that there's a lot of room, but the adjustable straps constantly slip down. It's something I'm able to work with, but it can be a pain having to fix it often. I feel a little weird bringing it to my Business Professional office ('cause I definitely don't wanna change into a different bag twice a day), but it looks awesome for most other occasions.

ASOS CURVE Skater Dress In Color Block
The material is a thick, sweater-like knit - a little scratchy - and the sleeves looked frumpy to me, as they were long and fitted at the top and large at the bottom. I think it's cute, so I was still on the fence, but decided to send it back. The material is plenty stretchy and the hips are full; I'm sure you could size down if you're more pear-shaped. It was also very short on me once I belted it.

ASOS CURVE Exclusive Skater Dress In Geo Print
I ordered this almost right away; I love the design! It's one of my favorite things to wear. The material is really stretchy, but I should mention the print looks broken up when stretched. It's knee-length and roomy in the bust for me, so this would probably be very large on a shorter, more pear-shaped person. As of the July 4th sale, the dress is sold out, but I'm sure some returns will trickle in!
