Navel/Belly Button Piercings?

This is something I've been wondering about for a long time, but wasn't able to find in the tags.
Do any of you have experience with navel/belly button piercings? I absolutely love how they look (and think they'd flatter a full, voluptuous belly like mine, but don't know how practical or safe this would be.
