Lilli Hits the Runway... in flats?

On Friday I did a runway show for a local designer in Melbourne called "Chitra's Closet"!
It was a really exciting experience, though at age 32, and a size 16/18 I felt a bit out of place next to the waify young girls who made up the bulk of the models for the show. I wish more designers would use a range of models, because the clothes and dresses looked very different on the different body types. I thought the clothes were amazing - such a pleasure to wear, and getting my hair and makeup done was a bit of a buzz! I've posted about the experience on my blog Frocks And Frou Frou if you want to hear more & see some more photos

I did the show in my tallest heels, but they're not THAT tall, and looking through the photos I realised that my legs look a bit fence-posty. It's probably got a lot to do with how I was standing, but I was wondering if anyone had any advice on good brands of high-heels for heavier girls? I used to buy them, but I found I went through heel caps like nobody's business, and I work on my feet. Should I just resign myself to the fact that high heels aren't for me, or does someone have a recommendation for brands I can keep my eyes open for?
