I hate to post another article that makes my blood boil, but this one really got under my skin...

Dear CNN,

Was it really THAT slow of a news day that you needed to write an entire article about an apparently best-selling "fashion" book which seems to just be a big steaming pile of (well-intentioned and even more well-marketed) fat-shaming? I've usually got a thicker skin about this sort of thing, but this article really is one of the worst I've ( Read more... )

first off, i must say that sorry the article got under your skin, i prefer to read your breakdown of that article because your way was much funnier! i personally dont give 2 birds, about someone's opinion on things like these. its either, a skinny person whom wrote the book, or fat girl gone skinny... either way, i could care less. not hating on the thinner people, but i for one, dont care to see a sz. 0 in sheer either. its what society has deemed "accepted" and i for one, dont have a part in it. i mean, just because your thin, dosent give you the right to wear a certain thing. i think its the attitude or confidence that makes an outfit. not the other way around. ive actually been on both sides of the track, thinner when i was younger and teen, and now heavier than my "should be" weight, but ill say one thing, alot of clothes fit me alot more back then, and the trends were easier to keep up with when i was thinner, but i was not, and will not be as happy as i am today ..."fatty" i dont think your being to sensitive about it, i think you got your point across. but what i will say is, FASHION IS A RIGHT, NOT A PRIVLAGE....so NOT even the thinnest women, can pull off certain outfits.. id say, take it for what it is, a person who feels they got the secret to fashion for fats...and i do beg to differ!

I was just gonna say, that just being "skinny" doesn't mean you're gonna look fab in everything. It has so much more to do with body type and cut of the clothing than weight (also confidence has a lot to do with it!).
