Faith 21 Review

Aug 20, 2009 18:06

Received the items I purchased from Faith21 today, a skirt and pants. Review behind the cut! Hope these help some of you :).

Both a success! For reference, I am a 16/170 lbs/5'4. I carry most of my weight in my belly/back/hips...basically everywhere except my legs haha. I also have a short torso.

#1: Woven Denim Skirt

Price: $17.80 (plus shipping)

First, I ordered this in a 1X. The website said the waist was 38", which was correct. My waist is about 36-37", so I decided to play it safe. However, it just didn't fit right. It definitely wasn't falling off or anything though. I usually leave room for fit in my clothes, and have a habit of buying them bigger. I ended up ordering the XL too, and decided to keep that one, since I plan on wearing it high-waisted instead of on my hips/at my belly button. The waist on the XL is 36", which just fits. The only bad thing I had to say about it was that it is much shorter than I am used to (17") and will probably have to find some tights/leggings to wear underneath it. Overall I think it's really cute! I love the (functioning) wooden buttons and it being denim, will be a nice alternative to jeans.

#2: Pull-on Tapered Pant

Price: $22.80

I ordered these in a size 16. I find it odd that they consider 12 to be a plus size and stop at 16...But I'm sure you've all heard that rant a billion times, so I won't beat a dead horse :P Anyway - they are PERFECT. I LOVE the pull-on style. I'm a granny and like my pants to fit high, so I am ecstatic that they aren't low-waisted (they fit exactly as pictured on the model). They are a tiny bit baggy in the legs and a bit long (only because I don't wear heels), but I'm glad because after the first wash my pants tend to shrink a bit, even if I air dry them. They aren't skinny jeans exactly, more of a straight fit on me, which I liked, but you might want to note if you are expecting them to be skinnies. I feel jeans are the hardest thing to find for me (no ass, wide hips, bigger gut, thinner legs) but I will definitely be trying their other pants now!

Overall, I feel Faith21 has a good start, but they need to add more items, like, STAT -_-. They need to get going with outerwear especially, in my opinion. I also think they should just make bigger sizes of some of the things they already have in their straight sizes, and have a little more variety as far as prints/colors. I would have ordered more but a lot of their items look the same to me! Anyway, basically I'm going easy on them because they just released their line in (I think) May, so hopefully once they get some experience they'll turn out a really consistent, awesome line!
