Four Outfits of Summer

Jun 24, 2009 13:44

So, I've made a promise to myself that I'm only going to buy things that I absolutely love, and get rid of everything I don't. Since most of the things I fall madly in love for are dresses (and they make me feel fabulous), those are what I've been buying.

In which I fail at looking joyful in pictures. )

The purple dress is my favorite. You look so nice in color! The green sweater looks great on you, too.

The first outfit is my least favorite. Why? It doesn't show your legs. You have great legs and should definately show them off!

Thank you! I just recently became more comfortable with showing my legs, and wearing dresses. :)

I think the second outfit would look really good with the belt from the third outfit.

i agree. i think that dress should be belted. maybe not with those particular accessories, but you could totally get some more mileage out of that dress if you just put the belt on it.

i do that alot too with tent dresses. sometimes i wear them sans belt when its hot out, but if im going out i just throw a belt on and some different shoes and shazam, hot stuff.

i also love love love the last outfit and your shoes!

Yep, I bought it because I liked how it looked both belted, and unbelted, whereas with the purple dress, it just looks like a huge mumu when it's not belted (because that's what it is, heh).

I really love the last outfit. It looks amazing. If I had the dress in the second outfit I would take the hem up slightly and wear it with some fun tights. I have a really sweaty head as well, so most of the time I end up carrying some Oscar Blandi dry shampoo with me and putting a little on throughout the day. It also makes my hair look fuller at the root, so with a little teasing I can have Texas-sized hair. :]

Where do you buy your dry shampoo? I have been trying to find it forever!

They have it at Sephora, but OH GOD THE SMELL (sorry mmmswatches!) I have the Ojon one and it's the worst, but I recall the Oscar Blandi one having the same aggressive baby-powder smell as most brands have; please correct me if I'm wrong. Bumble and Bumble makes one in a shaker that's less aromatic but virtually useless. So far, I've actually had the best success by using Fekkai's fine mist aerosol hairspray at my roots to reinvigorate them. I get the travel size and it lasts forever.

the bumble and bumble smells good and what do you mean by useless?

Hi Lovlie

That first outfit really needs the structural engineering of a bra or a GOOD bra if you already have one on. Just think, all those boob-less wonders pay good money to get girls like ours and while the dress is nice,I feel you could rock it without the cardigan.. Viva la Cleavage. De lurking here... Since you are so brave, I thought I should be also. Hello!

I actually do have a good bra on in that photo, it just doesn't give me massive cleavage, but it supports the girls quite well. :) However, I just did get a bunch of new (cleavage-tastic) bras, which would probably work well with that dress. Also, hello there! :)

You look cute as a button! Everything looks great and fits wonderfully. The only suggestion I'd make is try buttoning the striped cardigan over your belly rather than over your bust. I'm not totally sure this would be (even) more flattering, but it might be!

I adore those last shoes BTW!

Thank you! I'll try buttoning the cardigan there next time, and see how I like it.
