OOTD/eShakti review, Surplice V-neck color block dress

So I ordered the Surplice V-neck color block dress from eShakti, custom measurements and all.

Once I saw this dress (over here), I knew I had to have it! It looked cool and cottony and summery...like a 50s housewife serving you limeade on a porch. I held my breath waiting for it to come, but I was very pleased with the end result. First pic is to show the full body shot, second is was taken in natural light to show the true color (less lime, more celery), and third is fabric detail and bottom band embroidery. It is a bit wrinkly and I think will look a little nicer once pressed.
Here it is:

I had worried a lot about the notorious bust measurements, since my particular rack of doom is extra doomy (40G). Some people have complained about eShakti's custom dresses being too tight in the bust/weirdly shaped, despite careful measurements. Sure enough, I followed the size chart and picked one to meet my measurements. The bust is not loose by any stretch but I like the way it fits, so long as I'm wearing the right bra. My summer clothes also tend to be a size smaller as I lose a bit of my protective winter padding in the summertime.

I looked at the original design though and had reservations about the caplet-style sleeves. I have large upper arms (large upper everything! even my head! lol) and tend to find that shorter sleeves cut into my arm fat uncomfortably. So I picked the elbow-length sleeve, as I wasn't sure what strappy sleeves would end up looking like with the collar and everything. I also like having summer dresses that I don't feel compelled to wear layers on top off.

Next, I shortened the hemline. See, I am not a total shorty (I'm 5'6"), but I have a shorty inseam (28"). You figure that out. Anyway, I didn't want it to turn into some weird not-a-real-hemline, especially since getting it tailored might be a pain due to the cut. And so I picked the "above the knee" hemline, which as I predicted hit me just slightly below the knee.

The cotton is sturdy but light and summery. The skirt lining is a thinner black cotton. Altogether it is very nicely put together. As I mentioned, the color is more true to the second and third pictures. There is a very weird side boob pressure valve zipper, which runs from below the left armpit to just above waist level, I guess since it is made to fit tightly in the bust? Anyway it does seem to make it easier to get the garmet on so I won't complain. Plus, if it gets really hot I can use it as a side vent, lol.

Your model is:
5'6"
270ish
40G
44" waist
28" inseam
Scorpio
