many OOTD [pin up girl clothing; re/dress vintage; we love colors; cupcake & cuddlebunny]

last august i posted a review of two pin up girl clothing dresses and i'm back with more!

NOLOSE Conference (september):

sadly i haven't been successful in getting copies of all the photos taken of me that weekend so i can't show you everything but i can show you two foxy little numbers.

saturday day wear: vintage 70s flight attendant dress from the amazing re/dress, red tights from we love colors, and Viradot Fluevogs in cream.  (ignore the little gold apple pin; the hotel staff asked NOLOSE board members to wear them so that we could be easily identified if they needed to talk to us.)

i was so excited to find this dress.  i have a total fetish for vintage flight attendant wear and the dress is divine.  it was in perfect condition and is a poly lovely.  the shoes are also fantastic and run large.  very comfortable.  i have to say that i cannot give a good review of the we love colors tights that are supposedly new and improved.  i found them to be very thin and flimsy and every pair i bought (and i bought a number of them in different colors) developed holes in the crotch area after just one wear.  not cool!  for $15 they should be thicker and more durable.  it's too bad because the colors really are fantastic.

saturday night: Pin Up Girl Clothing Greta dress, fishnets, and Malibran Fluevogs in black.

i love this dress.  but, it definitely does not have as much stretch as other stretch satin dresses, such as the Hearbreaker dress, which you can see me wearing here.  this is the largest size, which they call a 2x but is really more like a 16.  the dress had a tendency to ride up and i spent much of the night pulling it down.  also based on the lack of give and the fact that it's tight through the waist, i think this dress would really only work on pear, hourglass and figure 8 figures.  the shoes, like all the Fluevogs in the Operetta series are remarkably comfortable.

IDKE Conference, (October) [main conference website is down but that's a link to the facebook account]

friday night outfit: Pin Up Girl Clothing Anna dress, shrug from Curvy Girl Clothing, fishnets, Malibran fluevogs.

i love this dress.  it's got great stretch and can both be dressed up with a shrug, fishnets and heels (as i did here) or worn more casually as a sexy summer dress.  btw, that's one of my bffs and queer fat femme about town, Bevin Branlandingham (aka queen_bbb ) pictured in the first photo.  we're doing our best jukebox heroes impression there.

saturday night: Pin Up Girl Clothing Heartbreaker dress.  (see links to this dress above including full body shots.)  this shot doesn't show you much but i just couldn't resist putting this photo of Bevin and me up here because it's too fabulous.

sunday outfit: Cupcake and Cuddlebunny dress, black we love colors tights, Viradot Fluevogs.

i adore Cupcake and Cuddlebunny.  i have scored vintage finds a plenty especially here on the friday sales posts.  this is one of my all time favorite dresses.  Rachel added the cutest little tomatoes to the dress which really just put it over the top.  it's hard to see but i'm wearing a thick black belt with the dress and have a black tank top underneath.  and yes, i am holding a half dozen cupcakes because nothing beats a fat girl with cupcakes!

Bevin's 30th birthday bash, round 2 (last week):  Pin Up Girl Clothing Jessica Wiggle dress, fishnets, retro looking Bronx heels scored from Cupcake and Cuddlebunny.

while i was rocking this amazing dress, Bevin and Tara (bias_cut ) were bringing it with 60s realness.  ok, but here's the thing about this dress: this is PUG's new stretch material which is pretty awesome because it's a good fabric and durable and it really hugs curves nicely.  *but* it does not have much give, certainly much, much less than their stretch satin and the stretch material dresses like the Anna dress are made out of.  this means you need to be fairly small through the waist and ribcage to get this bad boy on and off.

Re/Dress Galore!  (two days ago)

i finally got to Re/Dress on saturday after my winter break from grad school began and i felt like a kid in a candy store.  nearly all my fat girl life (after i decided i didn't have to wear frumpy clothing until i lost weight and instead could throw dieting out the window and live my life to the fullest and be fatabulous now!) i have been wishing for a vintage/retro store that catered to the plump, juicy and delicious and Deb made my dream (and hers, i daresay) come true.  if you haven't been you must go now!

so i tried on this amazing 70s number and i had to have it.  now i just need to find some high orangey-red or white boots to wear with it.

then i tried on this dress.  i didn't end up getting it but after seeing the photos, i'm going back for it if it's still there!  as Bevin said, it matches my hair!  oh and don't mind the pink knee socks.  i didn't intend to be photographed above the knee while trying clothes on!  :)

and so that's it!  a fall retrospective of my fatshions.

for reference: all PUG dresses in a 2X.  measurements: 46/38/53; bra size 38DD; dress size 18; pants size 22; tops size 14/16; height 5'3"; weight 230.
