Argh! The thigh rub is a killer on all of my pants and totally bums me out. I do have a place here in Portland that is great at repairing jeans. I have no idea how she works her magic, but the woman is able to sew up jeans that have rubbed thin/torn in the inner thigh and you really can't tell she patched them up.
The shop is one door east on Burnside from 28th, next to a dry cleaner.
Oh, I'm so sorry - but I don't have a way to upload a pic right now.
The technique she seems to use is to sew matching thread back and forth over a large area of the fabric and blending it in - sewing in the direction of the fabric threads. I'm so daft at sewing I don't know a better way to describe it, but perhaps that helps?

The shop is one door up on the northeast corner of Burnside and 20th! Not 28th. So sorry to mislead you - just had it wrong in my head. It is next door from Tip Top Cleaners on Burnside, across from the gas station.
oh, and P.S. - if you take in more than one piece she'll haggle with you a bit ;)

Is it E or W Burnside? What side of the street? Are you sure it was 28th?
