I like my pants, and I want to keep wearing them!

Yo, people with thighs that rub together when you walk:

I have a hard time keeping my pants in good shape...
they typically wear out between the thighs in less than a year.
I'm wondering if anyone has tried pre-emptive thigh patching?
Patching after the fact seems tricky, as I'm never sure exactly what shape
the worn-out section is supposed to be.
So has anyone done this before?

Also, is there a "sewing for plump women" community (or similar) out there?

In other news, I dropped a lot of cash at H&M last night.
Usually nothing fits or looks good on me in that store,
but I just bought a size 42 double-breasted wool coat because
1) it's super-cool, and
2) it's the only double-breasted thing that's ever looked good on me
(the shoulders are not too large, the waist is in the right place, and
the back of the coat is actually a little longer than the front
(usually coats ride up on my ass)).

Definitely worth checking out for short plump girls.

I also got a black knee-length sweater-jacket there,
that I expect to wear the hell out of this winter.
And it was on sale - double score!
I hope these two pieces continue to look as good at home,
as they did in the dressing room.
