i used to think knew what love was. To me, love was a person who made you feel something completely different. Love was an emotion that couldn't be explained. It never occured to me just how wrong i was about love.
just recently, i've discovered what i now think love is. It is more AND less than just a feeling all at once... Love is described as a type of emotion for something or someone else... For a long time I thought that was all there was to love. The many aspects of love all come down to just that one word.. how is it that we place soo many feelings on ONE word?
There are tons of examples of the different feelings that get tied into the word love. One of those examples including the love for ones parents. This type of love is only a little different then the love of a sibling. We can never forget the love for someone that is completely different from any other type of love... this love in itself has caused me many mistaken uses of the word. All of these loves have their similarities though. Most people never realize how simliar all of these feelings are.
Every kind of love has atleast three simlilarities. One of those common identities for the word include understanding that thing or person in which the feeling descends upon. another similarity is the ability to accept the negatives of that thing or person. For instance, i love to go fishing, even though i spend a lot of money on it. The third and final commonality is that over time these feelings will change both for the good and bad. But, the real question is what makes love more than just an emotion?
As teenagers, we all think that love is a feeling that conquers all. Each and every one of us has felt that we were in a love so deep that we tried everything in our power to make it perfect. that alone was our biggest mistake. Love is not about that.. love doesn't mean that you never have to say i'm sorry... love means that when you say I'm sorry, that it comes from your heart. it also means that it's OK to get mad as long as you know how to show it respectively. Love isn't bout finding someone TO spend the rest of your life with, it's about finding someone that you can SHARE your lives with. Every human on the planet can live without the fairytale version of love, but no one can live without caring enough about someone or something to be able to say they love that or they are sorry regarding that and mean it from their soul...
