Summary: Onda Miku was just a regular high school girl who loves nails. But suddenly, she got into a terrible accident, and the shinigami (death god) Sei fastened his chain of death onto her wrist! Sei may be hot, but he is a bit scary. Being tied together with him, just what kind of fate awaits Miku!?
Review: The artwork on this shoujo is pretty and the initial set up is interesting, but it really went downhill fast afterwards. Most shoujos get horrible as soon as heroines fall in love, and this series is not exception.
Due to a data error, Miku soul gets accidentally taken by a shinigami after a car accident. It's not quite her time to die yet, so she gets to go back to her body and live the rest of her life. However, she's still chained to the shinigami who caught her soul.
The only thing unique about the heroine is that she loves painting everyone's nails, including guy's nails. I have to say seeing a cool looking guy like Sei, the shinigami, w/ bowties on his nails is disturbing to say the least. In any case, shinigamis are around to see that people don't die before their time, help suicidal people, and grant last wishes to the soon to be deceased.
It's a badly insipid story w/o any drama. Of course any 16 year old girl chained 24x7 to a hot guy is going to fall in love w/ him, while said guy will instantly fall for the bland heroine. I actually didn't get the whole shackle and wish plot at all. All shinigamis must shackle their clients and grant them their last wish? A pretty silly idea already, but what was the point of leaving the shackle on Miku if her soul wasn't going to get collected yet? Not to mention, teary eyed and sympathetic shinigamis trying to save a suicidal girl was a bit off putting. Shouldn't the shinigamis be used to death?
Since I knew this was a short series, I managed to finish but just barely. The only saving grace was Sei's and the male character's artwork.
