My Life Under Construction

May 03, 2005 22:33

So, my life has been undergoing some changes lately, and as I reflect upon this change, I realize that there is more in store in the alteration process.

A few things that are in store:
-donating my hair to Locks of Love
-starting my book idea, "Co-Pay,” even if it sucks
-getting at least one of the bands that I am playing with, if not both, off of the ground so I can start gigging
-start reading poetry at open mics again
-start job shopping, even though I don't plan to go anywhere anytime soon
-finally decide and commit to either going to Law School or getting a Masters in Lit. or Professional Writing
-become comfortable being alone (with myself); trust me this is hard to do when you’ve spent the last seven years with someone
-finally moving out of my parents house
-take advanced grammar studies, graduate level course or undergrad, to get my editing and writing skills back up to par
-getting my ass back into the gym
-reestablishing and developing friendships
-enjoying and accomplishing something every day
-taking either art, acting, photography, or dance classes (wish I had time for all)
-and just being open to what life has in store for me to explore.

That's an awfully demanding list in and within itself. My timetable for accomplishing all of these things is less than a year, however.

I have to do these things. I have to find myself. I am printing this out and carrying it everywhere I go. Heh, I think I am going nuts, but I've always been a list maker. It's how I get things done. Anyhow, I had to get these thoughts down. If anyone out there has some time management tips, I need them desperately. Because if I am going to accomplish all of these things within the next year, I am going to have to manage my time extremely well (notice my fun and very long sentence fragment there).

And yes, it's taken some drama, but I think I am finally waking up to what life has in store for me. Now, I just have to follow through.
