SO I got the Suikoden 1 novels and. It has uh. A lot of Ted.
A LOT of Ted. Right now I'm just rough translating the snippets i can, so here they go! This is the snippets of the village and his death scene ones should be up sooner or later. Be warned that. This is not ALL of what's going on, just what is relevant to me. It's a lot more sadder etc when you read it all in full. This is all done in order, so try to piece together what would've gone where~ If you played the games.
'Ted...'
At hearing his name, Ted looked up to Tir with a happy face.
'Hehehe, I was just a bit scared, but now I'm fine. Boys have to be strong, right?'
'That's right, Ted. Boys must be strong no matter what.'
'G-grandpa...' Ted cried out at the sight of the Soul Eater. 'What is that? For some reason, I'm scared...'
'Don't be scared, Ted. Because you are a boy, you musn't be scared.'
'Hey, where did Grandpa go? The villagers too, everyone... hey, where did they go?' Ted looked around with said eyes as he said this. Tir was somehow unable to speak, so Cleo tried to comfort Ted.
'Ted, you're a strong boy, aren't you?'
'Yeah...'
'Though it's painful, you from now on, have to become much much stronger. Become strong, because you must live alone.'
'But I...'
[blahblah Cleo puts her hand on Ted's shoulder and turns to Tir.]
'Master Tir, this is probably the time three hundred years ago Ted talked about. So from now, for three hundred years, he must wander the world alone.'
'Yeah, that may be...'
At Cleo's words, Tir chest became tight. This misery that this young Ted will have to go through until another three hundred years where he will meet Tir. [mooore stuff but cutting off.]
[Flik (yes Flik he was there with Viktor) finds the light to take the hooome BUT]
'Eh, mister, where are you going?'
At Ted's words they stopped. Could they really leave such a small child alone and leave? It left a bad taste.
Tir turned to Cleo beseechingly.
'Can Ted really not come with us?'
'I'm not sure...' Even saying that, Cleo looked miserable. [she says mooore but lol kanji.]
'Well, we can at least escort him to the nearest village.'
'Tir...'
'I'm sorry, Ted... we have to go back to where we came from. But Ted, I will make a promise with you. Sometime, somewhere, we will surely meet again. At that time, I will become good friends with you. Which is why, no matter how miserable, don't get defeated. If you collapse, remember you are not alone...'
'Really? Mister, really?'
'I really think so. Which is why, please live. It's our promise, right?'
'Yeah, of course!'
Tir hugged Ted's body closely and tightly-- [lol kanji ANYWAY basically he turns arooound and the group HEADS TO THE LIGHT HOME]
'Mister, we will definetly, DEFINITELY become friends!!'
While Tir's eyes were tightly closed, he was still able to hear Ted's voice clearly. Even though he was going towards the light to the path home, Tir answered.
'Yeah. So, keep well...'
'Hey, mister, your name?'
'Ti-'
Tir's answer was cut off as the light enguled him and took him back to where they were.
Hey, mister, your name?
Ted's last words echoed through the darkness. Continuously and continously, Tir heard Ted's voice through his head.
It's all right Ted, sometime, for certain...
But the conditon of Ted's voice changed.
Tir, Tir...
It was not Ted's voice of before. This was the voice of the Ted that Tir originally meet, the young man's, Ted's, voice.
Ted? What is it--
Instinctively, Tir painfully, desperately answered to Ted's voice.
Tir, help me...what is this place? It's painful... Help me, Tir...
Ted? What is it? Ted?!
'TED!!'
Tir yelled so loudly that it echoed around the cave he woke up in. His body felt heavy. His right hand twinged a the thought of Ted. Was it just a dream? [hahah oh man these sentences are cut down HE MONOLOUGES A LOT MORE but um. kanji.]
