So, remember me mentioning a while back that I've been fiddling around with the Sims 2 game? Well, when I first fired that game up and saw what it could do, my very initial, automatic thought was: "What this game really needs is X-Men!" Because, well, what couldn't be improved with the addition of X-Men, right?
I didn't really look into it for a long time, though, since I've barely scratched the surface of what the game can do. Especially with all the custom mods and things out there. After running across a site recently, though, full of Sims players who are also comic fans, I decided it was time to really do something with a neighborhood. So... (Warning, lots of photos of annoyingly mismatched sizes)
First off, I personally didn't make any of the costumes. Almost all of them were done by a creator called Synaptic Sims, who hangs out at:
s11.zetaboards.com/SynapticSims_Lair/index/. He's done some amazing things with the X-Men in this game. I also didn't make the hair or skin, those were done by various other creators and I'm still too much of a noob to figure out anything that complicated. What I did was sculpt most of the faces and put all the rest together to hopefully look like who they're supposed to be.
In no particular order, aside from the way photobucket has them arranged:
I did do the markings on Blink's face myself, of which I'm inordinately proud. Mostly because I didn't mangle them horribly.
Jean and Bobby, in case it wasn't obvious. I have a more Phoenix-y costume for Jean, but haven't stuck her in it yet.
Yana's face took a ridiculously long time to get how I wanted. I'm irrationally in love with Lorna's hair.
I'm still not completely satisfied with Betsy's face, but it's close. I adore how Rogue turned out..
Did you think I'd possibly forget Kitty? She's utterly my favorite of the bunch and I am so pleased with how she looks. Ororo's eyebrows are making me a little insane, in that they are obviously not white. They are, however, attached to the skin and I can't find another skin that looks right on her. I'm about to resort to trying to recolor her brows myself.
I'm also amazingly pleased with Emma, even if that look says she's obviously not pleased with me...
The next group are most of the rest of the guys. I didn't add them above because, other than changing some hair around, I did not make them personally. They were designed by a creator called nextor_torres on the site above, with the exception of Kurt and Talia, who were designed by Synapticsims. There's no way I could've possibly done the characters as much justice as they have.
Other than changing Peter's hair a bit, I did nothing to him. Because he is perfect. Sooo perfect. Scott could use some new hair, but I'm on the lookout. I did give some of the guys bushier brows, since
frozencatnip insists they looked too much like they were going with the girls to have them plucked before. ;)
Remy...guuuhhh. What else is there to say? I need to find Kurt a blacker version of that hair and he'll be perfect.
I adore Talia. I wish I'd gotten a shot of the tail and feet. Hank is closer to pre-cat Hank, which workse for me. It's amazing that someone could manage that with a Sim, since that took a lot of meshing, recoloring, and general modification work.
And last, but not least, there's Warren. Whose wings didn't make it into the shot, but they're there too. These are all that are basically ready so far, though there are more waiting for me to finish with them. Including Pete Wisdom, Siryn, Multiple Man, Jubilee, Havok, Daytripper, and probably others I've forgotten. I'm going to be at this a while, can you tell?
I'll likely inflict more of my geekness on my unsuspecting f-list as time goes on. Possibly with pictures of the X-mansion, which has it's own cerebro, danger room, medbay and other assorted things that make my little comic geek heart do all sorts of happy dances.
