I'm sort of slowly making my peace with Pixie and her Soul toothpick of Doom. Thanks to Kyle and Yost and the godawful writing disaster that was Quest for Magik, everyone's sort of stuck with the results now. I'm just hoping they can salvage something out if it and it was nice to see that there are some actual consequences for Pixie, instead of just sparkly new kewl powerz.
I'd have rather Yana be brought back differently, obviously, and in a story that had at least some resemblance to previous canon, but I'll make my peace with that, too, if they can reconcile some of those inconsistencies along the way. I'm not sure I'll ever be able to scrub Belasco's 'But I Luuurve her!' out of my brain from that arc, but I'm hoping that's one thing that never rears it's ugly head again.
Since these are just the first pages, I'm going to hope that Kitty and her fate at least gets a nod somewhere else in the issue. I can reason that her loss is possibly some of what's fueling Peter's desperation in that scene, but...I winced through that entire exchange between him and Scott. For all the mourning and moping he's done afterward, this does more to trivialize the impact of Kitty's loss on him than just about anything else they could've had him do, in my opinion. And it's a pattern I really would've liked to have seen broken for once.
