Two balls short...
There will be no trip to Vegas this summer after all.
My 9-ball team lost in the finals of the local championships this weekend - twice. It's a double elimination tournament, so Saturday night we lost in the winners' bracket final by a measly two balls, and then today we got blown away in the losers' bracket final.
I've never felt so deflated as I did on Saturday night. We were so close to nationals we could smell it...after such a crushing loss, it was pretty tough to get motivated for today's match, so while we pushed it to a fifth individual match, it was pretty much decided by then.
I guess on the bright side, we made it pretty damn far for a team that only got into the playoffs as a wild card. Maybe next year.
