Remember
those window thingys I found in an alley a while back? Of course you do. You're enamored with my eccentricities. Well I decided I wanted to paint them black and put old school looking maps in the panes. But then I thought, You paint everything black. Brown is fun, and there's cool scratches and paint streaks on it. Let it be.
I didn't like how real maps cut up looked and I couldn't find cool ones on the internets. Then I ventured to the part of craft/art supply stores I never go. The scrapbooking section. Reason one being: Scrapbooky People. And reason two: OMG PRETTY PAPERS I HAVE NO USE FOR BUT WANT THEM ALL!!!!11
So I got my map-ness, and then some.
And started piecing papers in certain areas. It wasn't unlike quilting, which I enjoy but don't have the attention span to actually finish a whole one.
Left!
Right!
Both! The maps/travel theme really didn't come out dominate, but I still like them. I forgot to look for handles to put on the inside edges, I still want a window effect. And what's fun is I can just peel out the paper if I want plain glass sometime. Or switch up papers or whatever.
BTW, that Robert Downey Jr. is so hot right now. And not just in my eyes, he's all over. We received some Mayterm books at work for a History of Film class and guess who is on the cover? A one RDJ in a screenshot from "Good Night, and Good Luck". My co-workers were like "you dork", at my squee but I did not care.
