#244 magical truth-saying spidey
I am now a proud owner of a little tarantula!
It's a Lasiodora Striatipes (Bahia Grey Birdeater).
It's only about an inch long, but I thought it a better choice than getting a spiderling which was tiny and I'll probably end up losing. In a year though, my little guy will be as big as my palm!
I've named him Mr. Nancy after spider-trickster Anansi from Caribbean/African folklore. :D omg neil gaiman reference
Will post a picture later. Tomorrow to find out where to buy crickets. I could feed it worms but worms gross me out, especially when I found out I actually have to cut it in half and feed it alive to Mr Nancy. o_O At least tiny crickets I could just leave it in the enclosure. Lesser of two ickies I guess. :/
Also, Mikan passed away last Sunday (20th). RIP lil' dude. I think he was very lonely without Momo. I remember back in Perth it was only about two months after Beans died that Malaki passed away too.
