Big Day Out 2006 highlights
For me the highlights of this year's BDO were:
* Magic Dirt
* Sleater-Kinney
* Shihad
I didn't get to see all of Shihad, but I saw the last few songs. John Toogood's hair is long again!!! Dude! And they played "My Mind's Sedate" and it fucking rocked. They just plain rocked. It was awesome. I realised I have to buy any recent albums I don't own by them. Also the earliest album(s). I only have 2 albums, I think one is self-titled (well, the one with "Home Again" on it anyway) and the other is The General Electric).
Got a little bit scorched by the sun, not too bad.
I saw M.I.A. and she was great. Saw Iggy Pop and the Stooges, they were amusing/great/fun. The Mars Volta were absolutely mind-blowing. I couldn't keep track of the beat at all, that drummer was nuts. Hehe. Very insane.
Oh, I could ramble about it forever but I have to write a big proper entry for Open Diary, so this will suffice.
