Right now, being at Kenyon is like being at soccer camp except, unlike real soccer camps, I don't want to go home. It's really a lot of fun, minus my constant tiredness and soreness. All the girls are really nice and really interesting. I was talking to 2 of the freshmen today, one is from San Francisco and the other is from New York, NY, and both told me that they've never been to a movie with a boy, which is really bizarre to me. But the one from Cali went to boarding school, and the girl from New York said New Yorkers don't really date.
Anywhom, the other day I got back from a meeting and was walking across the quad and saw Sam Hunter. We did the slow, exaggerated run and hug thing, and passers-by probably thought of it odd, but whatever.
Also, my good friend Rachel and I met a really cool soccer guy named Brian. Last night, when there was a knock on my door and I was expecting it to be Rachel and, instead, found Brian and his roommate, I realized that the 2 sexes have one thing in common- both get really excited about seeing each other. We watched Sex & the City and chillaxed, and it was fun.
Orientation will be hectic and probably awkward, but I already have 9 instant friends- just add a soccer ball and field, and girls will act like they've known each other for years. Oh, except for that weird girl from Danville who skipped 2 years...we're not so much instant friends.
I love it here, but I don't know how I'm going to manage soccer, classes, and napping.
