Two thumbs way up!

Okay, geeky ahead...

But today it occured to me that all in all, of the crappitude that digital rights managements systems bring, just occasionally, one of them comes up with something that works.

Steam just won big points from me today....

I recently bought a new laptop... Which is a nice step up from my old one (maysherestinpeace)

It runs team fortress 2 beautifully... And so lil sis and I play as a team...

So... how about left 4 dead?

Ugh... do I want to buy a second copy on the offchance it'll work?

Wait! I don't have to... Switch my accounts over, I'm now downloading L4D onto the laptop to try it out on my main account... if it works? all I have to do is to buy a second licence and boom! ready to roll on both machines... if it doesn't? uninstall, and no one is fussed!

Unlike other DRM systems, which do not inform you that you have a limited number of times you can install them. That require you to make a phone call to the service centre, with your frickin' receipt in hand to beg for a single extra activation! I'M LOOKING AT YOU ELECTRONIC ARTS!

If we have to have DRM? this is the way it aught to be! Well done Steam! You'll be seeing more of my custom in the future.

In other news? Watching Shirley Valentine... Old films are sometimes the best films :)

"That's right! Sex for breakfast, Sex for lunch, Sex for dinner and Sex for supper"
"Sounds like a great diet!"
"Oh, it is! Haven't you heard of it? It's called the 'F' plan!"

The only bit of the film I remember... and it made me laugh just as hard now as it did before :) Classic film, well worth a watch to anyone that hasn't seen it.
