Well, I was pleasantly surprised to note that the new job... didn't suck.
Or at least, there were certainly elements that sucked, but enough non sucky elements to tip the balance the other way.
okay, so... Things that sucked.
The office is cold, and looks pretty much like a converted warehouse. Whiiiich pretty much works in explaining why the place is cold.
The desk I was working at was... Disorganised, to say the least. Okay, my desk at home is pretty horrendous, but I can at least find space to swing a mouse, or indeed sit, should I so require a place to plant my cheeks.
But yeah, I'm used to working in confinded desk space, so that's no problem.
To my mild dismay, I didn't over dress by much. Suit did not look out of place here :s But I may be able to get away with shirt and tie in the future.
Last real point of suckitude was that the boss (who was training me) doesn't seem to know how to run the computer system I was being shown how to use... And we haven't really covered much in the course, on what I'm doing right now.
But on to the good.
The work is easy enough, but still requires thought. I'm a lil slow (partly due to still having a cold and feeling kinda fuzzy in the head), but I imagine that once I get the hang of it, I'll be able to work out what can be claimed and what can't pretty quickly.
Once you get down to it, the computer system is fairly easy to use, and the people working around me are dead helpful when I get stuck.
Lunch whenever I want... And a lovely lake nearby... The option to work as much overtime as I want... So yeah :) All well and good.
Best of all, it counts as experience in accounting for the ol' CV :3
Lessee... Other than that?
Still at the point of going feep with learning to make flutey noises... But I'm getting the hang of how to position it so I get a noise. It seems as though you have to blow a lil harder to get the higher pitched notes too... Still working on that :o
Learned a new stance in Tai chi too today :) So now we have "Parting the wild horses mane" and "White crane spreads it's wings".
I can picture how the second one works, but not the first.
Then again, I've seen a crane spread it's wings, but I've never tried to part the mane of a wild horse... So maybe that's the reason.
*Nods*
Yah.
