Mostly, I wake in pain. If the alarm clock doesn't rouse me to alert me to the pain, then its the pain itslef waking me in the dead dawn to tell me the alarm will go off in an hour or so. I have a broken tooth. Part of it is hanging by a thread, and the tooth itslef isn't sore, (I think thats the one that all the nerves were taken out of years ago) but the hard but of my mouth above the gum is all inflamed and very painful. S was in trouble last night. She has a serious painful and disabling condition that suddenly got far worse, and she was resigning herself to sit for the night in an A&E waiting room. I naturally offered to accompany her and be a general someone-for-company person, and also possibly 'someone to talk to the doctors' person if nessisary.

Yesterday I had a doctors appointment. I'd booked this over a week ago. When I got down to the surgery they claimed I had no appointment at all - the receptionist checked to see had I the wrong time or date, and was adamant that, in fact, I had no appointment with them whatsoever.
