When we all went belowdeck, did anyone else find that room full of posters? I have a fair number of of them in my room--all birds. Not any birds I've ever seen, of course, but Kras City is lucky to have seagulls, one would require quite a bit of luck to find a cardinal or whatever those were.
Or the bird would have to be utterly mad.

[He knows it at least gets dark. Time is moving, though it might be cyclically.]

[Pause.]
No, I don't understand it either.

Maybe we've just all lost our minds and have been committed without our prior knowledge or consent.

Not to mention that if that were truly the case, I would assume Erol would be locked up and muzzled rather than allowed to run free and have his fun ruining people's lives.
[He smiles, and it's obvious in his voice. Damn Razer loves that man.]
Not that I would have him any other way, of course, but the point stands that he isn't exactly stable. It's part of his allure.

[Fantastic. Royston's reminded of a young man he knows at home who drove a man mad out of revenge, or so the rumors said. He was sociable enough, though, but was an entirely different kind of crazy than Erol.]
I had enough danger in my life with the war at home, the last thing I need is a dangerous man in my bed.
[He thinks about that for a second. It's not entirely true-- it depends on the type of danger. He wouldn't touch Erol with a ten foot pole, though.]

Personally, I think I rather prefer it. A dangerous man helps keep you sharp--it's the kind ones that dull you down to uselessness.

He's also fighting off a terrible pun about the relative sharpness of a razor.]
Danger from the diplomatic issues that might arise is one thing, that will certainly keep you on your toes... danger from being afraid to fall asleep next to that person is something entirely different.

He pauses to think about what it would be like to be afraid to fall asleep next to Erol. He was afraid to sleep when the Commander was a cyborg, certainly, but that was concern for Erol's wellbeing rather than his own. He's thinking about it, and thinking hard, but is incapable of grasping it.]
I suppose I'm lucky, then, that Erol's personality has never provoked any kind of fear in me whatsoever. The fact that he could kill me in my sleep doesn't mean he would, you see.
[Razer could kill him right back, anyway. That's one of the things that makes their relationship so awesome; neither one has been on such perfectly equal footing with a partner before.]

He gives a bit of a chuckle.]
To each their own, I suppose.
