‘Good.’

Commander Elias Vaughn arrived at the airlock to the Enterprise. He knew it was going to be difficult. He knew from experience. He boarded the ship and went to a turbolift. “Deck 3.”

Deanna paced as she waited for Vaughn to arrive. It was quite shocking to find out that she had been lied to since she was recruited by Section 31. That she had fell for it.

The door opened and Vaughn entered. “Hello, Deanna,” he said.

“Hello, Elias,” Deanna said. She sensed worry and determination from him.

“Let’s get to business,” Vaughn said as he took a seat.

“Of course.”

“You’re not alone in being deceived by them.”

Excerpt from: Daria - A Lane’s Return to Lawndale
“Thanks, but I’m sure I can do better.”

“It is said that learning art is a lifelong process,” Jane said.

“Was that Ms. Defoe?” Quinn asked. “It sounds like something she’d say.”’

“Good observation. But as I was saying, building up skills takes time, as does refining one’s own style.”

Quinn nodded. “I do need to be more patient.”

“That’s part of it,” Jane agreed.

“And take it slower.”

Jane nodded. “Haste has been the downfall of many an artist. But the point is you are getting better.” She opened her curtain. “Now for a challenge. Sketch what you see out there.”

Quinn looked out over the Lane’s unkempt yard, taking in the gazebo as well as the plants and the neighboring houses. She was sure she could do it in the time before the sun set.

Elsewhere in the house, Summer brought some snacks to Courtney and Adrian. “What have you been watching?” she asked.

“So, you just came in?” the Doctor asked.

“You did disrupt the café,” Dani answered.

“What will that prove?” Daria asked.

“Probably not much, but I do need to scan the portal from there. I didn’t get much data on it from the sonic,” the Doctor explained. He flipped said device in his hands.

‘Right,’ Daria thought.

“Let’s go then,” Quinn said.

“But what about that mysterious genetically engineered person?”” Daria asked.

“Probably not a good idea for them to follow us home,” Quinn added.

“I’ll come up with a plan,” the Doctor said.

“That doesn’t inspire me with confidence,” Daria said.

“It will be a good plan.”

They were silent as they approached the Morgendorffers’ place along the back lane. They paused just short of the place. “You can come out now,” the Doctor said.

A sound as of a whip was heard and a figure swung down from a tree in front of them. “Hello,” the young man said. He took out a card. “Peter Parker. Agent of UNIT.”

Daria looked at the card. “You seem to be a little young to be an agent of the United Nations Intelligence Taskforce.”

Peter shrugged his shoulders. “Well, I’m still in College.”

Excerpt from: Star Trek: Voyager - A Different Gift
The drop back to warp was well timed. The aft sensors picked up a nebula full of radiation. Kes was thankful that she didn't have to divert around it. Ahead was a void between two of the Galaxy's spiral arms.
