17 April--Back to his adult self, Faramir is out and about. Sees
Richard at work in the library and gets books, talks about how dorky or not they were as children, and plans to meet when Richard's off for that drink. Is hailed by
Shasta, who wants to show his teacher that he can now read entire books. Faramir mentions Shasta's recent birthday and asks if a bow and arrows would be an acceptable gift. Shasta's enthused and Faramir will make the bow then figure out there to get arrowheads. The go to the cafe, get drinks, and Shasta reads the book. Plans to get more books and discussion of Richard, who will have friends whether he wants them or not. Sorry, man.
18 April--On a visit to the stables, meets
Calum, who is fairly easy to identify by virtue of being the only other full grown person (besides Boromir) who works there. They mostly talk about ancestry/history and family. Faramir's is older but Calum's is bigger (49 cousins--yowza!) and then Faramir realises he should let Calum do his work. Some time they'll have to get a drink.
19 April--Back in the gym, encounters
Stildyne for the first time. He'd have noticed the man before if he'd been around. Faramir knows the machines and is cautious, so Stildyne doesn't treat him like a loser. Mentions that he was home (which was why Camulus was so testy when Faramir met him) and that no time had passed and things seemed like a dream. This makes Faramir wonder and think about how it might be for him.
23 April--Takes lunch for
Adam/Felicia (and watchers). Finding no one else there, Faramir takes a shift. Felicia won't eat but Faramir learns what a drag queen is. Doesn't understand that but does know what it's like to have people you care for disappear on you. When Felicia and Fabulous take a nap, Faramir goes into watch mode, only inside, warm and comfortable, with no orcs. Basically, it's not a difficult job.
23 April--Meets
Shasta at the library to find those books. Richard has just left after piling on the Dr. Seuss. Faramir acknowledges that they are simple poetry and a good way to learn about language, suggests that Shasta might wish to practice writing too, and they look for more books. (Short)
25 April--A ranger walks into a bar... because he saw
Lex Luthor, who he met as a seven-year-old (Faramir seven, not Lex) and wants to prove that he wasn't full of it when he said he was really an adult. He wasn't lying. They discuss a number of things--village occupations, wizards, fathers, lands and responsibilities. Faramir gives the shortest rundown on Sauron evar and Lex is interested in maps of Middle Earth. FTB going to show Lex more of the village and, in theory, Faramir will shut up and let Lex talk. Unless gettting Faramir to spill was a sneaky bastard ploy and he keeps Faramir blabbing.
29 April--Faramir goes to the library to get a book on wedding customs to learn how to help Boromir.
Richard suggests that he talk to Polgara instead. That makes sense, so Faramir prepares to leave but Richard has less than a half-hour until the library closes and Faramir stays to talk, including about the concept of Faramir getting a job at the library. Gets kinda 'I love you, man' at the end. And then they go for drinks.
