Magika - Chapter 8
It has been three weeks since the school started and Ohno spend most of his time with Nino. Usually, Nino would stay in his room until dinner and both of them will work on their homework. Nino is good in most of the subjects but apparently he is not good with physical activity. In their flying lesson, Nino took a longer time than the rest of the classmates to stabilize himself on the broom, after Sakurai san. Apparently, that is the only class where Sakurai is not at the top of the class. Surprisingly, Ohno is at the top of the class for flying lesson.
“So, do you guys want to help me with my experiment today? Sho chan has agree to help me but I need another helper,” said Aiba as all five of them are having lunch together. It’s weird to see Matsujun joining them as he is always with his girlfriend. But, apparently, his girlfriend has a meeting with puniceus committee and so that’s why Matsujun is joining them for lunch. Ohno has met Mao chan, Matsujun’s girlfriend. He thought they are lovey dovey couple but they are not like that at all. Both of them keep on arguing about everything. Mao loves to tease Matsujun’s weird fashion taste and Matsujun loves to bully Mao chan. But, even though they always argue, Ohno could see how much they love each other.
“No, both Ohchan and I have a plan this evening,” said Nino. True to his words, Nino never let Aiba used Ohno in his experiment anymore. Both Nino and Aiba has stopped putting a prank on others as they do not spend time together as much as before. Aiba is always with Sakurai and Nino is obviously always with Ohno. But, sometimes, they hang out together on the weekend to play games together in Nino’s room. Ohno and Sakurai will also be there but Ohno spend most of his time staring at the space while Sakurai will study. In the beginning, Sakurai played together but as he was always beaten badly by Nino in the game, he stopped playing after a few attempts.
“Oh, and the plan will be cuddling on the bed together,” said Matsujun mockingly and Nino just glared at him while Ohno can feel his face turned red with the tease. What Matsujun said a few weeks before this was true. A day after Nino kissed him on the cheek; they spend the day sleeping on Ohno’s bed. Since that day, they will sleep on his bed everyday after both of them finished their homework. Even though Matsujun kept on teasing Nino about it, he will just ignore it and just sleeping on the bed together with Ohno. Ohno doesn’t want to admit it but he feels really lonely at night when Nino wasn’t sleeping with him. He missed the smaller guy’s warmth as he was sleeping alone at the night.
“Never mind if you don’t want to help me. I’ll get Junno to help me this time,” said Aiba while pouting. Seeing the pout, Ohno couldn’t help but feeling sorry for the other guy. Nino was right. Aiba really has the power to seduce people with his adorable pout and puppy eyes.
“Aiba chan, did you say my name?” said Junnosuke Taguchi, a fellow member of crudus house like Aiba who appeared out of nowhere and both Aiba and Junno start talking about the experiment. Like Aiba, he is also an airhead who seems to have the same way of thinking as Aiba. He is one of the few people who are interested with Aiba’s weird experiment. Ohno can understand how Junno might be interested with Aiba’s experiment by seeing his simple personality. But, seriously, Ohno never understand why Sakurai will help Aiba with the experiment even though he knows all of the experiments are ridiculous. According to Nino, it was because Sakurai likes him. He just wants to spend time with Aiba so that’s why he agrees to help Aiba with his stupid experiment.
“Okay, enough about your experiment. We should get going right now so we won’t be late for the class,” said Matsujun and both Nino and Sakurai looked anxious hearing that. It was the time for flying lesson, which are their worst class. Ohno, on the other hand, was very excited to get to the class as it was his favorite class.
As they arrived in the field, a few students have already gathered around the Yano sensei, getting ready to be shown a wonderful flying trick again. Even though he shows them a nice trick, he keeps on reminding him never to try the trick until they have mastered flying using the broom.
As usual, after being able to stabilize themselves on their broom, everyone listens to Yano sensei’s plan for today. They will be divided into two teams to play a game for today. Everyone in Puniceus and crocinus will be on the same team while rutilus and crudus will be in the same team. They need to catch the opposite team member by snatching the big cap wear by each student. If they have caught all of the members of the opposite team, they will win the game.
Feeling excited with the game, Ohno starts thinking of who to target first. Seeing Sakurai in front of him as him as Yano sensei blew the whistle, he immediately took the cap from Sakurai who was trying to avoid being caught by Matsujun who was in front of him.
The game has started for 10 minutes and Ohno has started to feel something weird with his broom. It was like the broom has been jinxed. Sometimes, he cannot control the broom especially when Nino was very near to him. But, he chose to ignore his bad feeling. As he noticed Aiba was in front of me, he silently agrees with Nino, who was in front of Aiba, to get Aiba’s cap together. Everything was normal in the beginning but as he collided with Nino when Aiba managed to get away from them, he started to see a vision.
He doesn’t know if it was a glimpse of the past or a dream, but in the vision, he saw two kids playing together in a park. He recognized both kids as Nino and him, maybe around five to six years old. He never know Nino before this so this vision has to be a dream. A pair of parents, probably Nino’s, was watching them playing from afar. When he showed Nino how he can move the toys using his telekinesis, Nino’s parents suddenly go to them and took Nino away from him while shouting.
“Get away from my son, you monster,” that’s what he heard. But he is not a monster. Nino was crying, struggling to get his father to let him go. He tried to get back to Nino but a pair of hand stopped him from walking. His parents were looking at him with sad eyes as they carry him away from the park. That’s when he woke up and realized he was not in his room. Maybe he is in the infirmary. He looked at his side and noticed Nino was sleeping on the bed beside him. Matsujun, Aiba and Sakurai were also there and all of them are sleeping at the chairs on the bedside. He was about to sleep back when he heard Nino’s voice.
“Do you see the same thing as I do?”
