I don't remember what I dreamt this morning, but one thing I do remember is, I was flying. Usually in dreams, I try to fly but I don't get more than a few feet off the ground. I feel the pull of gravity too much, and I'm too heavy, and whatever is trying to lift me, isn't. I don't remember the plot of what was happening, but there was a river, and a city on both sides, and I had to fly to escape something. I remember the sensation of flying really well--not weightlessness, but a heaviness that's compounded by being in mid-air... feeling the pull of gravity, but remaining in the air nonetheless. It was the highest I've ever flown--I think I was at least ten stories high!

I started reading Blindsprings this morning. I like it so far: the world-building is nicely contained but still intricate, the plot is intriguing enough that I want to keep reading, there's a good diversity of character types and relationships.

I finished setting up my bedroom today! Now I just have to get rid of the boxes by the front door... a lot of boxes which I ordinarily would have hung onto, like the printer box and whatnot, but I don't think it matters very much now. I might regret it after all, and need to move again very soon, but we'll see. The other hand of my table is against the wall, for my sewing machine. We'll see how much sewing I'll be able to get done this year with this setup. I really do like having space around the bed though. It's nice to be able to stretch without hitting a wall.

The last couple of mornings have been interesting, because my bed totally faces east, and the sun does also hit my face at certain angles. Which means I naturally wake up around 6.30, 7am. Kind of disgusting, really. My alarm is set for 8am. But! Maybe this is a sign I should get my ass on the road earlier! I shall do so tomorrow, and get back on that royal road of dissertating.

I set up the bookshelves, but I'll wait until JC gets back before putting the books on the shelves, because he says he wants to use the living room often to read, and might have different ideas on how to arrange furniture then.
