Disgusting waste of a person.
In math class, a girl was talking while the teacher was finding something in her notes and loudly said, "...A guy went to his prom with another guy and when they got out of their limo afterwards and he was shot". A boy responded by saying "Ew, that's sick. I'm going to do that too." (Meaning shoot a person because of their sexual orientation).
The teacher, who normally dismisses unrelated discussion, didn't reply in any form. The class was quieter than usual.
That's sickening, honestly. Am I the only person absolutely disgusted and offended by this? That's an outright threat against the gay student body, which is rather large this year, or so it seems. If that had been a racial comment, I do not hesitate to believe that he would have been immediately repremanded for what he said. He's entitled to his opinions but these were NOT the circumstances which allow for his voicing of those opinions.
First of all, it has no correlation with math, and secondly, it's the school faculty's responsibility to protect its student's from having to endure such discriminatory utterances. I'm repulsed by the mass allowance by teachers for inappropriate and grammatically-incorrect uses of the words "gay" and "fag". Especially when someone says, for example, "that homework was gay". The homework can't have a sexual orientation! It's paper and ink! It's asexual!!! People look like complete assholes to me when they use language that improperly. Could people be more ignorant and obnoxious? Unfortunately, at this rate, I think they could.
I want to file a complaint, about the student, teacher or both, yet I have no idea who to address the problem with. My grade principal is busy with sexual harassment charges and my head principal is on his way out. I'll have to figure out some sort of solution because my blood feels as if it might burn its way out of my viens.
