Firstly, I must make mention of the new icons. I finally tired of my shocking lack of Loki, Captain America, Hawkeye Avengers icons in general as well as Sherlock, Merlin, and my limited Disney selection. So I partially rectified the problem with over 25 newbies. Can't wait to use them all!
Secondly, the iPhone battery. It. is. awesome! I feel like I have my iPhone back! After I got off work yesterday, I still had 95% power with it sitting stationary and having three apps running the whole time. :D I'd say iFixit's brand is maybe 5-8% less effective than the original battery my iPhone had, but it's still pretty sweet. Considering I'd been leaving work with percentages in the 60's with no apps running, I'm not complaining in the least! The offer still stands on that coupon, btw, if anyone needs it. It is WELL worth the money and minutes to DIY if your iPhone battery is slowing.
Lastly, I've been looking up video games news rumors a lot lately, and have some bits to share about a few titles.
Bungie
I about had a heart attack yesterday at work when I saw the story pop up on Yahoo about the "leak" of Bungie's secret project, because the computers at work block out all video game information, and I couldn't read beyond the headline! Thankfully, a few sites don't report video game news under video games tags, so I was able to read the smidgen of information that was "leaked" via that infamous court case going down between Activision and the two COD guys. ... So we know it's some sort of MMO, but what's a Destiny? TELL US, BUNGIE!!! PLEASE!
Incidentally, one of the stories I read mentioned the relationship Bungie Studios has with its fans, describing it as something other studios can only be envious of. I would definitely agree with this observation. As much as people love and have loyalties to other studios, Bungie is adored by its fans. :D Square Enix used to enjoy that kind of adoration, but they've sadly fallen from their pedestal. I think DICE fans approach the loyalty level, but it's just...erm... slightly psychotic? They don't love DICE; they're obsessed with the studio to an unhealthy level. Seriously, when you're bored one day, type into Google, "Why do Battlefield fans" and read what pops up.
Square Enix - KH3 & FF Versus XIII
Speaking of Square Enix though, I decided to look for more information on Kingdom Hearts 3 and Final Fantasy Versus XIII. I didn't expect to find anything. Coincidentally, there were some statements made recently by the studio stirring the pot on both KH3 & Versus, but I think that's all it is. The biggest news I found was that Versus won't be showing at E3. Considering they've been working on the project for something like six years now, I can't say I'm too surprised. I'm disappointed, but... Apparently, there's another show the bloggers expect Versus to make a showing at, though. I can only hope it's something concrete, because what limited info they've shown of that game looks incredible. As for KH3, apparently it's still to be left to our "imaginations," per the quote released about it. Ahh, Square Enix... Prior to Bungie, you were my favorite studio and company period. What happened? :( I'll keep the faith, but I hope there aren't too many disappointments in the near future. Only two of their games last year turned a profit: REMAKE FFVII, FFVIII, and FFIX like your fans are BEGGING you to! It's EASY MONEY! We'd all be willing to part with $50 or $60 for the same exact games remade to be beautiful again!
343 - Halo 4
I have reserved my Limited Edition copy at Game Stop. \o/ I figure the extra $40 is well spent, considering I'd spend at least $30 on the DLC maps down the line. I'll be putting $20 down a month from now on in a sort of perverse countdown... It's perverse because I'm trying to avoid acknowledging the fact that I'm spending over $100 on a video game. (After taxes are added, of course.)
I read an interesting rumor about 343's venture, though: there's been speculation that based upon the specs of the new game, the X-Box 360's hardware may struggle to provide the top performance the game is designed to deliver. Thus, bloggers and speculators are apparently crossing their fingers that Microsoft will announce at E3 that Halo 4 is the blockbuster exclusive game being released in tandem with the new X-Box. I'm not sure what to think about this one. On the one hand, the rumor is counted as almost moot because Microsoft said H4 will only be released on the 360, but I have to think that if the new X-Box is going to have a surprise release this year, Microsoft would hardly show their hand before they're ready. I don't know if I'm ready for the new X-Box. I mean, I'm up for anything new techno wise. It's just, the thing is... Well, there are so many awesome games on 360 still, you know? I'm not ready to move on yet. Last year was blockbuster for so many titles: Skyrim, COD, B3, Arkham City, Halo CE - and those are just some of the ones I purchased! A new console would not only be pricey, but it would require me having two separate X-Boxes hooked up at all times. I've always waited up to a year before getting the new consoles, but that was before I had a job that would allow me the freedom to get them hot off the shelves. I just don't know... Especially with the rumors of no more used games being allowed on these next-gen consoles, I can't even be excited about this possibility. I'm more weary of it, because if it's true, then for the sake of Halo, I will probably purchase the thing, even if I really don't want to. :|
On a random ending note, I'm in a writing mood, but I'm afraid to write anything and therefore don't know what to write. Illogical fears over my abilities are exceedingly irritating!
