Drabble: Invisibility
Just the one drabble this week, for a character we barely meet

Character: The real Natalie French
A/N: Written for prompt #3, episode 3 ‘Teacher’s Pet’ at Phantasmagoria
No one calls her Natalie any more. It must be fifty years since she became the irredeemable spinster Miss French, a foggy background figure.
She sees quite clearly, though. Observes her hometown’s freakishness. Measures the regular thinning of high school ranks through inexplicable mortality rates. Examines how the Wilkins genes breed impossibly true: a century of identical Mayors. Monitors her former students turned pallid, nocturnal, savage street-wanderers; frozen in adolescence for decade upon decade.
She knows there is an explanation. She chooses not to seek it. You don’t live to 90 in Sunnydale without learning the advantages of invisibility.
