Saturday, 28 March 2020: It's Been a While

Mar 28, 2020 20:44

Last time I posted was Sunday, 22 March, but this time I'm not apologizing for the gap. When I turned my laptop on the next day, I got a blank, grey screen. I couldn't get past that screen to begin to try to figure out how to start it up.

This guy didn't owe me anything. I bought him second-hand almost three years ago for $100.00.

As soon as I was sure the laptop was beyond help, I called my son, John, my own personal IT guy. I could cope with self-quarantining, but self-quarantining with only my phone and my Kindle? No way. I told John to order me a new computer. He did:

Amazon said it would be delivered by the end of this weekend, but...much to my surprise and delight...John received it on Thursday, brought it over on Friday, then stayed and set up for me. (My apartment may only be 772 sq, ft., but it is arranged in such a way that John and I had no problem staying at least six feet apart.)

It's beautiful, it does everything I need it to do, and I hope we will be happy together for a long, long time. FanSee

P.S. Since I mention John frequently, I thought you might like to see a very recent picture, taken a few days after Philadelphia was told to begin socially isolating:

He had planned to get a haircut last Monday. He was already over-due.
