Did I Happen to Mention That....

Samantha graduated from Temple University on 6 May 2016, two days before I flew away to Spain. Naturally, pictures happened.

We could have attended two graduations that day: the first one for all of Temple University and this one which is just the School of Liberal Arts.

Either way, finding your graduate was impossible until they walked across the stage.

Afterwards:

With her Uncle John...

...and with her BFF, Julie, and the proud father.

Afterwards we all went out for Chinese. I wanted to have an open house for her the next day and invite everybody, but she wanted a Chinese dinner...which, to be honest, is a traditional way for our family to celebrate family occasions.

The graduate with John and his wife, Pam and many Chinese vegetables, including but not limited to, bok choi.

Dad (my son, Alan), Alan's roomie, Olga, and my sister, Debbie, wearing the glitter headband.

My brother Peter, his wife Brenda, and an unflattering picture of Olga.

Another shot of Pam, antimated, and my grandson, Ryan. His wife, Jill, had to work late and couldn't attend.

So what does a newly-minted graduate do?

She got around on a scooter all through school, which was cheap and only a little scary. But now the time had come for adulting:

It's a small Ford SUV...a Ford Escape, I think. And it's red, like her scooter.

Inspired, I went shopping, too, and bought a few things at Ikea. I got two lamps, one for my office and a bedside lamp to read by.

This is my living room before the purchase:

And this is it afterwards. (I've also moved some furniture around.) I'm quite happy with it.

2016 has been good to me, so far. Keep your fingers crossed. FanSee
