yes, they were fantastic. I had no idea what to expect -- Butch is 57 now!!! But they were in great shape and very excited to be touring. Their new album is on their own label, and they are talking about getting back in the studio soon, and it's just very awesome!

Imagine, in my icon, the rat is excited to be at the rock show!! :)

Erm...the nearest I've got to a rock concert is seeing a production of Rock of Ages; and I'd never even heard of Garbage and Shirley Manson until I read this just now. I did watch the video - does that work in my favour?

It sounds like you had an utterly terrific time though. :D

Yeah, I'm very hard rock -- but I was also raised listening to country, and I perform Old Time, and was classically trained as a singer -- so virtually every kind of music is awesome to me.

I love a rock show but I only go every so often -- once every three or four years maybe. This was a great one! We really did enjoy it. And I was especially glad my son had a good time at his first show. It would be awful to have all that loudness and such sore feet, and so much waiting around for them to come on -- and then be disappointed. We were rewarded!!! :)

the guy in my icon is Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin -- I've seen him three times, twice with Jimmy Page. :)

Your love of Garbage...almost makes me want to try them again. ;) What a nice testimonial to why you love them!

The caveat is they range across such a wide variety of tones. They can be super hard rock one minute and then very pop the next, and sometimes almost uber sentimental. I love that. Shirley writes a lot of the material (though not all, because the whole band is very strong) so it's one of those things where you get the whole emotional landscape of a powerful creative woman. I love it ( ... )
