# The author really gets Belle and Beast both in character, even managing to surpass the original movie in terms of characterization. The rape by Gaston is never actually shown; it's more dealing with the consequences of the rape (although Belle does tell Beast about it when they've managed to get to know one another better), and it's very sensitively handled. There's still some areas of humor and light with the household objects, but it doesn't overwhelm the story, and the story itself really is about Belle and Beast both trying to recover from what happened to them -- Belle being impregnated by Gaston, and Beast being cursed. Much, *much* better than it sounds, believe me.

Basically part of a verse with the cast of That Guy With The Glasses.com as hookers -- the verse is much better than it sounds, trust me. Written for hurt_comfort bingo, the story's mostly a series of vignettes from the point of view of the Nostalgia Chick, the Nostalgia Critic, Linkara, and Marzgurl. She really manages to keep the cast of TGWTG in character, even regarding their...unusual circumstances (a trait I admire with every AU fic, and one I try to use with my own AUs). It's a mix of angst and hurt-comfort, with the pain building up before the crash, before returning to a perverse sort of calm. There's a bit of wry humor and warmth in there, along with some nightmarish elements (*cough* Critic and Linkara's sections *cough*) and, of course, sadness. (The addition of the song "I Don't Mind" by the Decemberists just enhances the fic)
