The End!

Dec 18, 2007 13:32

I'm finishing the first draft of my latest WIP today -- a YA piece, clocking in at about 48,000 words. The last 31,000 of which I wrote since November 19. At this point, I want the damn thing done. Done, done, done. I want to stop obsessing over the story, stop thinking about tinkering with just one more paragraph, stop writing.

So, a question: when you're in the home stretch of your draft, do you long to stretch it out and savor it? Or do you bang it out to type The Freaking End Already! Is it more like a fine wine to be sipped? Or a beer to be chugged?
