Speaking of reading (and with a quick apology for the double-post)...
I'm one of those people who devours books. I inhale absolutely. And if an author's writing style is good enough to keep me around, I will get dragged into the story and the character's voice becomes my own. I feel the character's anguish and pain. This is why I normally stick to fantasy and romance: generally, the ending is happy, so the emotional anguish I go through during the story has closure.

I just finished reading Orson Scott Card's Ender's Game. It was well-written and I was able to slip into the character's mind quickly.

I think that most appropriately sums up my feelings. I'm off to go read something fluffy with no substance. You know. So I can then start The Hunger Games, which has the potential to ALSO be emotionally-draining.
