We're painting the downstairs bathroom. And by "we're," I mean, "I'm probably going to do it."

My mother let me add my input on the colors. She's trying to get them to match these two needlework patterns she made of frogs. The frogs themselves are a mid-range olive color with a lot of yellow accents, and they're in front of this almost periwinkle pastel blue water.

>:/ The bathroom (and the laundry room, which is going to end up the same color) is in a part of the house that doesn't get any natural light. To keep the rooms airy, I've been trying to steer her away from warm, summer and fall tones and into cooler, spring and winter ones. She keeps going back to this olive green color that makes me want to bash my head into a wall because THREE rooms in this house are already olive green. She won't even CONSIDER my thoughts of a very pale pink (the back bathroom has a "frog" theme, so the green would go well with pink) and her concession is apricot.

Well, the entire downstairs is already a beige-y apricot color.

Well fine. Then, she wants yellow. But she keeps pointing at more orange-y yellows and I keep going towards more pale, pastel, pink-y ones. And ignores that the tile is this beige, sandstone-y color and that the shower tiles are beige-y white.

And for greens... IF the rooms HAVE to be a green, I think a blue-tone green would be more appropriate, like a mint or seafoam or pale Irish, but she... once again keeps going back to the olive colors. There's this gorgeous Jade color that would look amazing and fresh and she scoffs at it and points to a pale pea color.

She should just let me do it all. Let me choose the color, clean the rooms, and paint. I promise I'll make the rooms look nice. I swear!
(Maybe I should just be an interior designer? I have a flair for color-coding and decorating and matching...)

(((PS: HA. All four dogs are treating me like I'm the Anti-Christ. Guess who got baths today? XD)))
(((PPS: I think I need a French bulldog when I move out)))
