So, the good news over here is that I think I'm beginning to snap out of my funk.
That's why I disappeared for a bit. I do the dance of the hermit to shield you. It's not that I don't love you.
It's just that no one wants to hear about me being miserable, least of all me.
But I'm beginning to feel like somethings are manageable again. And the rest I'm just going to let sort itself out.
I've applied to a few jobs, but nothing is in the advanced stages (interviews, call-backs, etc.) I'll let you know if that changes. And you, you let me know if you hear of a possibility, and I will hit that up in a flash.
At the moment, I think my best shot for sanity might be to get a job somewhere else. San Antonio seems an attractive option. I'm not that enamoured of Houston at the moment despite proximity to my HS amigos, and I could probably move out sooner.
So San Antonio, maybe, yay!
This is a pretty boring post. Oh! I was a little concerned about myself earlier because I was so unexpectedly enthusiastic about this news:
http://www.nbc4.com/entertainment/9577902/detail.html?treets=dc&tid=2652484579813&tml=dc_ent&tmi=dc_ent_1_12150407262006&ts=H At first I attributed my interest to the prime opportunity to rib my best friend Pat who was an avid N'Sync fan at one point. She had a particular crush on Lance, and I narrowly escaped seeing that subway movie he did (On the line? Line it Up? Line Forms here?).
But then I discovered I was more amused than she was, and I feared that I had finally lost it. Luckily, when I later read something on the U.N. and thought fondly of researching it in the library I realized I was just deathly bored.
I'm also debating whether or not to see "Lady in the Water." I'd much rather see "Strangers With Candy" but the odds of convincing anyone to see that with me are slimest to none. Thoughts?
Also: A sociological experiment. You see friends, there was a time in this modern girl's life when she felt that she was largely densensitized to "shocking" media. She had seen a number of things on TV and the media, including shootings, stabbings, planes crashing into buildings, George Bush speaking on her country's behalf, and even Killer Clowns from Outer Space. So when she stumbled across this video labeled by the archivist as "shocking," she thought nothing of it. Surely, nothing could impress her now.
How wrong she was.
http://citizen.nfb.ca/onf/info?aid=6828&eid=18069 Seriously, I was disturbed. I just stared at the screen for a few moments after it ended. So, watch at your own risk and tell me what you think. I guess there are still some things that can creep me out.
I'm off to FINALLY respond to some comments.
Actual e-mails tomorrow.
Currently obsessed with: Magnetic Fields covers.
Dresden Dolls cover of Karma Police is also love.
Missing friends in: Canada, China, Detroit, RI, Balmer, and scattered haphazardly across Texas. (How well-traveled we all are).
