Kathy, wearing a fetching top improvised out of a blanket, took shelter under the giant metal statue of a rooster outside of Dite's to avoid a shower of beads from the sky. Most of the necklaces didn't hurt when they landed, but some of the novelty ones had sharp edges that got tangled in her hair. No sooner did the plink plink plink of plastic on metal cease than the door of the shop opened up and a shirtless woman stormed out.
"Forget it!" she snapped, hurling her keys off to the side. "I've had about enough of this! When you mess with my wardrobe, you've gone too far!" The woman shook her fist at the sky, only to be rewards by a stray necklace landing on her face. "That's it! I quit! Someone else can staff this place!"
Kathy watched the woman stalk off, then snagged the discarded keys and let herself inside. She'd been handwavily looking for a job over the past few weeks, but nothing had worked out. The Android's Dungeon'd had too much zombie merchandise. Luke's involved far too much work with raw meat. Even glancing in the window at Furnado had brought back an unpleasant memory or two and had her scurrying away. Dite's--for all that it had merchandise that still made her blush--managed to be one of the least traumatizing options on the island.
Well...okay then. Looked like she worked at Dite's now.
