Abandoned Warehouse District, early Thursday afternoon

Jul 28, 2016 09:41

Ringo had been intending to do this, well, forever ago. But she'd basically spent weeks getting distracted. This morning, though, she'd woken up, remembered she had no classes today, and decided that today was the day.

She'd taken her drone for a couple of test flights after she'd finished repairing it, and it seemed to be working just fine now. (She'd also managed to get good enough with it to not, you know, fly it into the ground anymore. Not that the time that had happened had been her fault, of course.) So today was the day she was going to try flying it on the move. After all, the whole reason she'd gotten it was that sweet video online of some AT tricks.

Now she was riding along slowly, barely more than a fast walk, as she tried to get the hang of riding and flying a drone almost entirely using its built-in camera rather than looking at it. It was kind of weird, to have most of her attention focused on a view of herself from twenty or thirty feet away. Somehow watching yourself move in real time was pretty brain-bendy.

Ringo hoped she got used to it soon, though, because she really wanted to do more than just ride around slowly on nice wide, flat surfaces because coordination was hard when you were trying to get used to an utterly alien perspective.
